The secret to getting great performance out of a Raspberry Pi, even an older one like the model 3B+, is to use the lowest screen resolution possible (in addition to the obvious things like enabling hardware GPU acceleration). Using 720p or less leads to really smooth performance and low memory usage even in the heavy Chromium browser. #raspberrypi #diy #hacking #making
My work at IBM Research Lab
I was on the cover of a magazine, thanks to the work being done at IBM Research!
Raspberry Pi Star Trek LCARS Interface
Star Trek LCARS interface implemented on a Raspberry Pi with touch screen, using Python and pygame
PiScope
PiScope is a House4Hack project, presented at ScopeX 2015, to do basic astrophotography using a RaspberryPi, Arduino, 3d-printed parts, and a telescope.
Gym Timer
I built a dead-simple Arduino-based gym timer for my StrongLifts 5x5 routine
Beat load-shedding with solar tech
My simple solar setup has been featured in articles on Fin24 and HTXT.
House4Hack smart watch
We built a smart watch at House4Hack. I decided to re-write the firmware and Android app from scratch.
DroidOrb
I built an Android accessory using an Arduino. It's a charging dock and notification light, among other things.
Dual Projector Home Theatre
In the quest for a mind-blowing home theatre experience, I experimented with two projectors and planned out my custom-built sound system. It turned out better than I thought!
